SURVEY: The 3 Most Respectable Filipinos

Lead Philippines is now conducting a small but serious survey... Lead Philippines asks:

It is amazing how hard it became to answer this question. In the few samples surveyed so far through SMS and e-mail, the results are:
  • 50% did not answer at all
Meanwhile, of those who answered:
  • more than 50% said they "do not have an answer"
  • 20% gave 1 or 2 names each only
  • 15% answered themselves or their family members
  • Only 15% mentioned 3 names each...
The survey has become more of a challenge... Can you suggest the names of 3 of the most respectable Filipinos alive today?

Hi, I'm wondering how one can contribute to this survey. Where do we submit our responses?

This is a good initiative. I hope we can mobilize a good number of people to support this "movement". I'm thinking of the OFWs as well who were hardly a voice in the last national election. Can we reach out to them and encourage majority of them to exercise their right of suffrage in the next Presidential election?

Hi Ronald, everyone can just put in their responses here as a comment or can send their responses or any suggestions to lead(dot)philippines(at)yahoo(dot)com

Thanks for your comments. Indeed, the plight of the OFWs as well as our local workers should take prime consideration in any national discussion of issues.

It's not really difficult to name at least 3 most respectable Filipinos. I guess we are just stumped by a lot of negative news around. We must be so used to thinking ill and low of ourselves that somehow when we are asked questions similar to what you posted, we get blocked by our own mental conditioning. But jumping out of that rut, I'm sure we can name a lot. So, here's mine:

1. Prof. Randy David of UP
2. Gov. Grace Padaca of Isabela
3. Mayor Jesse Robredo of Naga City

I'm sure there are a lot more. Maybe they do not have the name recall of out current crop of national leaders. But I suggest we name them, get to know them and discuss their credentials and capabilities so we can generate a list of possible leaders for our future.

I hope other readers could float these relatively unknown but highly qualified individuals.

Indeed, that was what I am hoping for... that people will be able to float in more respectable names. Surely, we know there are more Filipinos who can step up to the plate and we just have to get out of that, as you said, "rut", and realize we indeed have lots of potential leaders...

I shall post here in the future all those names that are less known but nevertheless have respectability...
